Great place to find all of your water sports needs
We recently rented a pontoon boat for a full day from their Lake Oconee - rt 44 bridge location. The boat and equipment was very nice. The employee who rented us the boat was awesome and took great care of us getting everything setup. I wish I could say the same for the manager and people in the main office who run the operations. Even though we had the boat for a full day (8 hrs), we only ran the boat for a couple hours and were either docked or anchored a majority of the time. We ended up running out of gas after we noticed the needle was fast approaching empty, luckily we were just short of making it to one of the gas stations on the lake and someone was nice enough to tow us the rest of the way. When we returned the boat, we returned it with the tank reading full. I spoke to the manager about the situation a couple days later because he wasn't present when we returned the boat and he begrudgingly agreed to give me a small credit for the inconvenience. He stated the credit would go back to my credit card I paid within a day or two. A week later, I realized the credit never showed up so I called back and spoke to a woman in the office and after re-explaining the situation and her re-verifying my story, she assured me she was personally taking care of it and the credit would be reflected in my account within a few days. A week and a half goes by
We rented the 24" pontoon and it was perfect!! The boat was clean and well taken care of. Jeff was on time for delivery to lake blue ridge. He was extremely professional and he even came back early to meet us at our request. I would definitely recommend YH Watersports and Jeff if you need a boat rental in the blue ridge area or anywhere else.
Just a blatant lack of communication and respect for people's time. This easily could of been resolved with a quick phone call or just telling me the situation after I called back the first time and has now come to this. I will never rent from this company ever again nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. I will go out of my way to advocate that people not use any of the services they offer. Grade A example of how not to run a business and how not to treat customers. Doesn't take much to make things right, incredibly disappointing on a foundational level. I look forward to taking my business elsewhere.

and still there was no credit so I called back again and explained the situation yet again and the woman in the office said she would have to do some research and call me back but assured she was getting taken care of. She called me back later that day and informed me that they did not issue the credit because they had to top off the boat with gas after I returned it. Didn't think to place a phone call to notify me this was happening and the dock attendant when we returned the boat never mention the boat required additional fuel.
We arrived at the appointed meeting place for launching on time to be meet employee Jeff. He informed us not to use the 'tow bar' on the boat typically used for pulling smaller water sport craft (we rented the double tube which is hardly a double person and the knee board). We rented the 21' boat which was new. Jeff said the tow bar could come loose so we should use the hook on the transom. When we tried that the person on the tube would be pulled under water! Yes, disappear because the tow rope was so low! Face and nose filled with water. This happened to multiple people, and then with NO ONE ON THE TUBE! The boat could not pull them out. We called the office and they said that we should call Jeff (who had not given us his number). They gave us the number and he said he would call us back after speaking to the owner. He spoke to the Owner, Dustin who told us to 'lean back'. Eventually he said we could use the top tow bar which proved to be the solution. At the end of the day we returned on time with an immaculate boat because we were threaded with a $50 cleaning fee. We had 2 $50 tickets on the cars because Jeff failed to tell is that there was a fee to park. When we called the office and started discussions with Dustin by email he said basically tough luck! He said, "we do everything within our power to warn you about the parking fee so you are responsible". They NEVER told us. I asked Dustin to consider that we were new to the area and to his rental and he did not reply. So much for small town hospitality. I would recommend. Premium price and poor service.
